It’s weird that some people get upset when you wish them a happy/merry “wrong holiday” greeting.
It’s truly bizarre. Who gets upset when somebody tries to greet them festively and wish them joy? What does the “wrong” holiday even mean? What is wrong with some people?
If somebody came up to you and said “Happy Thanksgiving!” but you were Canadian (and therefore didn’t celebrate that holiday), would you be insulted and upset? Would you throw a hissy fit about it? Would you feel that you had been “othered” or “harmed” in some way?
Of course not.
So what’s all the huffing and puffing we hear about how “wrong” it is to say “Merry Christmas” to people during December? You’re Jewish? So what? The person wasn’t trying to insult you.
If you’re a gentile, would you be offended if somebody cheerily said, “Happy Hanukah!” to you? I sure hope not.
People get too offended by stuff. It’s almost like they get off on it.
In light of that, I’m going to decide not to get offended by these people who like to get so offended. I’m just going to point it out and move on, and say:
Merry Christmas Eve from Haman Nature!
Naturally,
Adam
