Remember when Bill Kristol took a much deserved beating...
...at the hands of the great Scott Horton?
Last week I shared episode 19 of the Natural Order podcast. That’s the one where Brian and I discuss Tucker Carlson’s recent interview of Russian president Vladimir Putin.
The corporate press that serves as the mouthpiece to the regime in America went apoplectic over what would be seen as perfectly normal (in fact, excellent) journalism if we were a sane country.
On the other hand, sane countries don’t fight endless proxy wars.
One particularly odious public “intellectual”, Bill Kristol, suggested that the goon squad be sent to punish Carlson for the sin of giving the American public useful information not pre-approved by our overlords.
The following Twitter(X) exchange is illustrative. The Redheaded libertarian’s response to Kristol’s casually evil post is perfect.
Bill Kristol is part of the baying pack of neocons who have championed all the destructive and murderous wars American has taken part in over the last several decades. He is a complete and utter loon. The blood on his hands will never wash off.
So, I bring up Tucker and Putin (and the redhead) all as a clumsy excuse to show you one of the greatest and most satisfying debate smackdowns you’ll ever see in your entire life.
It was held at Gene Epstein’s Soho Forum debate series in New York a couple years ago and features Bill Kristol vs. Scott Horton on the merits of US interventionism abroad.
If you don’t know Scott, you should. He’s a tireless warrior for peace and an all-around great guy. You can find his work all over antiwar.com and he runs the magnificent Libertarian Institute.
Poor Bill ran into a chainsaw. Scott shredded him. It was glorious. Here’s the ReasonTV YouTube video of it. As you watch (and you absolutely must, it’s amazing) note how absolutely empty Kristol’s arguments are.
In the Q&A period Kristol even got embarrassed by a perfectly obvious question from the audience. I don’t want to spoil it for you. Just watch. He and his ilk really are empty suits.
(Ignore that big “play” arrow in the pic. The link to the debate is above, and also here)
I implore you to watch it. It’s not often that the cheerleaders of the regime’s wars put themselves in the position to face extended, competent criticism. Kristol must not have known who Scott was.
Poor fella should’ve prepared better, or ducked the fight. Enjoy!
Naturally,
Adam
