TERF wars on Twitter(X):

They can be awful, they can be amazing, and they are necessary.

One of the signs of our very weird times is the battle between women and… men who want the world to think they’re women.

This is playing out in all kinds of areas. Violent males (including rapists) are self-identifying as women and being housed in women’s prisons. You’ll never believe this, but these violent criminal men are now raping their “fellow women” in these women’s prisons. Who could have possibly seen that coming?

Creepy, perverted males are now claiming to be females so they can camp out in women’s bathrooms and locker rooms and do the kinds of things perverts have been doing since the dawn of time. I linked to one famous example. There are thousands more on social media.

And as I wrote about yesterday, they are entering women’s sports and dominating.

And because our society has apparently gone insane, “we” are just… allowing it.

Perhaps the worst example of this modern mania is how trans-ideology is being promoted to kids. In both homes and schools, kids are being propagandized to question whether they are a boy or a girl.

Growing up is bewildering enough without this bizarre psychological experiment being done to kids. A small (but exponentially growing) cohort of these become convinced they were “born in the wrong body” and attempt to transition.

I say “attempt” because of course no such thing is possible. You can’t alter your sex. Don’t blame me. Blame the universe.

In my opinion it’s criminal to assist (or even allow) a child to medically attempt to transition to another sex. The worst of these grotesque attempts is surgery, of course, but even hormone blockers or injections of the opposite sex hormone have serious long-term damaging effects on developing bodies.

In fact, it’s often said that the human brain doesn’t fully develop until the age of 25. Maybe people should hold off on doing such radical things to their bodies until past that age. I’m not saying it should be a law, just a good social norm.

Which brings me to an entertaining story arc that I recently witnessed on Twitter.

For those of you who haven’t been paying attention, Harry Potter author JK Rowling has come out as a “TERF”. This term stands for “Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminist”, and was hurled as an invective at women who were sick of being abused by men playing make-believe.

The women quickly adopted the term as a badge of honor. These TERFs have been pushing back against TRAs (Trans Rights Activists) online for quite some time now. The battles are heated and often revealing.

The following “battle” is just… amusing.

A young woman who had an entire “sleeve” of tattoos on her arm dedicated to the characters and imagery of the Harry Potter books and films decided she was furious with JK Rowling for her transphobic ways and decided to do something about it!

Forgive the filthy language, but this woman is on the “right side of history”, after all. Maybe we should cut her some slack.

Hilariously, after the woman posted this, the TERFs (often surprisingly gently) pointed out that this young lady was proving their point precisely, at least in terms of “transing” children.

One early commenter pointed out that she probably now regrets having gotten that huge sleeve tattoo in the first place. She responded jokingly. “I sure do. Yeah, I guess my dad turned out to be right about that one!” (I’m paraphrasing, but that’s the gist).

As one eloquent TERF on Twitter(X) summed up perfectly:

“I don’t know if you realize it but you just did the most Terfy thing ever. You couldn’t have proven our point more with any other action. As a young person you took one major action to permanently alter your body. Now, later on, you regret it. Now you are having to alter your body again to undo the permanent altering to your body. That is what we warn against. We are trying to let you all know that people change their minds and permanent solutions should not be taken when you are young. Now you have a black arm. That too you may regret one day. It limits your choices more than never having done any of this will do.”

The angry and confused young woman with a solid black right arm deleted these tweets shortly thereafter, and has since locked down her account. I don’t know if she was embarrassed or had an epiphany or what.

I’m hoping for “epiphany”. This trans-ideology we seem to have infected ourselves with is very stupid and very damaging. It is criminal when it’s presented to children. It’s worse than criminal when adults help children harm themselves because of the ideology.

We should wake up. A human can’t be “born in the wrong body”. That’s not a thing. You are your body. You are one and the same thing. If you feel disassociated from your body, that’s a troubling mental health issue.

Being convinced that you’re “a male trapped in a woman’s body” is as wrong-headed as being convinced that your right arm “isn’t yours” and insisting that a surgeon remove it.

Let’s quit encouraging insanity, shall we? Insanity isn’t “stunning and brave”, and it is cruel to say it is.
