Once a year around this time I give myself permission to go on a rant about the income tax. I hope you’ll indulge me. It’s cathartic.
This country existed and was quite prosperous prior to the passage of the 16th Amendment in 1913. There was no honorable reason to enact this hideous thing and foist it on a formerly free people.
The income tax is truly evil. Think about what it actually is.
The income tax decrees that the act of earning money is a crime. If the authorities catch you committing this crime, the penalty is a fee. The amount of that fee is a certain percentage of the amount you earned.
The crooks can vote to raise the fee any time they want.
Worse, in violation of the 5th Amendment, we are extorted each year (under threat of further fees, interest charges, and jail time) to testify against ourselves as to the commission and severity of this “crime”.
And to add insult to injury, the jackals have the gall to call this system one of “voluntary compliance”.
The income tax is a hideous sin and a national disgrace. This is no way to treat a supposedly free people.
Here endeth my rant. Now I’ll let more eloquent voices than mine continue.
Barry Goldwater: "The income tax created more criminals than any other single act of government."
Ronald Reagan: "The taxpayer: that’s someone who works for the federal government, but doesn’t have to take a civil service examination."
Lawrence Summers: “All taxes discourage something. Why not discourage bad things like pollution rather than good things like working or investment?”
Will Rogers: “The difference between death and taxes is death doesn’t get worse every time Congress meets.”
Steve Forbes: “The tax code is a monstrosity and there’s only one thing to do with it. Scrap it, kill it, drive a stake through its heart, bury it and hope it never rises again to terrorize the American people.”
Suggested IRS motto: “We have what it takes to take what you have.”
Thanks much for your indulgence. Now I’m off to go testify against myself like a good little citizen. Hope your day is better!
Naturally,
Adam
Even John Lennon didn't like the tax man!

Taxes are the price we pay to be slaves to a murderous empire. Tax time is a great time to remember that and feel some righteous outrage!
