What can we expect from Trump's red tsunami? Will it be allowed to happen?
The election may be over, but Trump's enemies are Legion and very powerful. Will they really just allow him to take office?
Early in the morning after the 2024 election, the Hamans flew to Albany to spend a week with family, so now’s the first time I’ve had to write a little bit about what transpired.
First of all, I’m amazed by the completeness of Trump’s victory. Forget “red wave”, this was a bloody tsunami. I can’t say I’m shocked, given how truly awful and pathetic a presidential candidate Kamala Harris is/was.
I don’t ever remember a less impressive person on offer in the general election in November. I don’t believe anybody in this country actually voted for her, but rather cast votes against a person they’ve been brainwashed into believing was “literally Hitler”.
I am still surprised the regime allowed Trump to win. Was his support versus hers really so big that they simply couldn’t cheat hard enough to counteract it? Was the vote disparity really “too big to rig”?
Maybe so. Or maybe the structural changes Republicans were able to make in the voting systems in key swing states were enough to offset any improprieties. Hard to say. I’d sure like to see our voting systems shored up everywhere. An opaque voting system isn’t to be trusted.
I still can’t believe that the various elements of the regime and the Deep State actors have just given up. There is so much money and power at stake. Also, some of these nefarious actors must believe they are at risk of doing time in jail with four years of a Trumpian Department of Justice.
I’d sure be worried if I were those jackals.
So, did they really just concede? Are they just going to let Trump take power? I just can’t imagine that they don’t have some other plans in the works to protect themselves and their incredibly powerful and lucrative interests.
I guess we’ll see.
On the face of it, Trump’s mandate looks incredibly strong. He won all seven “swing states”. He received 312 electoral college votes. He won the popular vote. Down ticket Republicans didn’t do as well as Trump himself, but good enough to secure control of the Senate and the House. And of course, the Supreme Court currently leans right as well.
That’s a massive political opportunity. What will Trump do with it?
I am very curious and concerned about the people Trump is listening to this time around. Is it the “old crew” of crony neocons? Or is it the “new crew” of populist libertarian-leaning regulatory and foreign policy reformers?
Again, we will soon see.
We will know a lot if he follows through on a promise I’ve written about here and here. On his first day in office, I want him to pardon and release Ross Ulbricht from prison in Tucson Arizona.
Releasing that unjustly imprisoned young man as promised will say a whole lot about what kind of administration we can look forward to under Donald Trump.
Here’s hoping.
Naturally,
Adam
