Once I saw Dr. Phil signed some of my favorite YouTubers to his new network (The Behavior Panel, some guys that dissect body language... fun stuff) I decided he was probably a cool guy. Glad to see he got even cooler! Whoda'thunkit?!
When they say Why? Why? Tell them that it's Haman Nature...
I also know not the nature of the good Doctor's show, but I know my mother-in-law likes him and she's not one to suffer fools nor to attend to Jerry Springer, so I think it's unlikely your characterization holds water.
I have not (yet) read the article in question, but will add that Dr. Phil has a book out and recently made a circuit of many podcasts and I heard him on a few and I heard nothing but sense from what he said on all of them. The conversation with Jordan Peterson is the one that comes most prominently to mind as a couple smart guys talking sense about a great many things that truly matter.
Jerry Springer was not awful. He was an American hero (and the former mayor of Cincinnati).
I recall the days of eating lunch in the dorm room, waiting for Jerry's "final thought" just before the end of the hour, then about 4 or 5 of us racing out the door with our backpacks to get to class at the top of the hour. Beautiful times.
Lol. If this show ever gets big I’ll sing that song Karaoke-style but change the lyrics.
Supporters only, of course.

Lol. Well I stand corrected.
You do not dare besmirch the name of The Great Springer.
Poor guy. We ARE some banana republic.
